#353: The latest news from the world of design conferences
Explore unmissable events Online and IRL from New York City to Antwerp, featuring tech, motion, and design festivals across global destinations. Don't miss out!
Dear friends,
Last night, before writing this newsletter, I was scrolling through Instagram and was surprised by the number of events announced in just one or two minutes of scrolling. The Copenhagen-based Softer Digital Futures event is coming to Amsterdam on 17 October, with the support of Madame Robot.
The Inscript Experimental Type & Tech Festival is taking place entirely online from 15 to 19 October, featuring over 30 speakers. Hans Gremmen announced the new exhibition 'Evert Bloemsma — Type and ideas' at ENTER ENTER in Amsterdam. It is curated by Jaap van Triest and Sébastien Morlighem. It runs from 3 October to 2 November. Design Emergency shared details of The Design Summit for Friends of Friends, an interdisciplinary and intergenerational event bringing like-minded creatives together in Chicago from 26 to 28 September.
It was announced earlier this week that Trish and Michael from built by Civilisation have launched designTRIPS, which gives you the opportunity to travel with other top designers and creatives, find inspiration around the world, and really impact your own design practice. The first two trips are to Portland, Oregon, for Portland Design Month in mid-October and to Tokyo, Japan, for the Tokyo Art Book Fair in December. Trips to the Netherlands and Zimbabwe will follow in 2026. So much fun!
You can still sign up to help paint a special mural called 'CHARACTERS: Voices in Type', which makes a statement about freedom, on 2 and 3 October in Breda.
Have a great week!
