New Public’s “After the Feed” presentation looks at what comes next as social feeds give way to agentic interfaces: AI-powered systems built around individual users rather than mass audiences. The talk traces this shift from the old gatekeepers of news media, to big tech platforms, and now to LLM-driven interfaces that collect more personal data in exchange for convenience. It also points toward smaller, more trusted, hyperlocal digital spaces as a possible counterbalance to scale-driven platforms.
