SmashingConf Antwerp — a brand new conference on design & UX

Smashing Magazine conferences have been around for a while. Their events are known for a mix of inspiring and practical talks on what’s happening in web design and development, and that friendly community atmosphere. On October 9–12, they are coming to Antwerp with a Design and UX focused conference for the first time ever. A bright new gem in the heart of Belgium — the land of incredible chocolate, waffles and truly Belgian fries! 🍫🧇🍟🍺

Meet SmashingConf Antwerp 🇧🇪, a shiny new conference for designers & UI engineers who love design, UX and the web. Topics range from design systems, usability, Figma, product design and accessibility to complex UIs. All talks are on a single-track stage, and you can also follow online. They also offer two days with 5 in–person workshops. But SmashingConf is more than just content, it’s full of mysteries and fun side activities, and the conference has a very friendly and welcoming feel.

Conference (October 10–11)

The conference takes place in the stunning Bourla Theatre in the center of Antwerp. The talks are a mix of inspiration and lots of practical takeaways. The line-up is almost complete and includes names such as Brad Frost, Luke Wrobleski, Christine Vallaure and Stéphanie Walter. And these people are not just awesome at what they do, but also very nice and approachable.

Workshops (October 9 & 12)

On the day before and after the conference, you can join full-day in–person workshops. These workshops are a great way to go into depth about a specific topic, improve your skills, and see how other people solve similar problems. Workshop topics range from Design Systems to Figma and Accessibility in Design.

Whilst their Freiburg conference in September is sold out, there are still tickets for Antwerp available. You can get conference, online, workshop, and bundle tickets. They have discounts for teams, and specific student tickets available too.
