Good reasons to boost your communication skills
Do you often present design ideas, pitch a new product or feature, share insights and inspire change in others? Ben's workshop will give you the effective communication tools you need to succeed.
This training is for all product team members, especially UX designers, product designers, product managers, user researchers, product owners and design leaders.
Most ideas shared in the workplace are ignored or lost in the noise of a thousand meetings. People think facts are the key to getting attention. They're wrong. Meta-studies show that when people listen to facts alone, they remember only 5-10% of the content. But a story is remembered 60-70% of the time.
What you'll learn
How to find stories to engage people.
How to avoid losing people with lots of facts.
The ingredients of a compelling strategic story.
How to organise your story so that people keep listening.
How to explain new ideas in a relatable way.
How to make change seem possible, not scary.
How to use memorable language that others will repeat.
How to help stakeholders and colleagues think your way.
About Ben Sauer
Ben is a product and design leader, an author, and international speaker.
From 2018 to 2020, Ben worked at Babylon Health, first as a Director of Design, and then Director of Product where he led a large team of 100 designers, clinicians, data scientists, and engineers on AI-based products worth $100m+.
During his time at Clearleft, Ben helped organisations like the BBC, Pearson, Tesco, and TCS to raise their product game.
Ben noticed that the product and design teams he was leading struggled to articulate their work, so he wrote a book about it: Death by Screens.
Since then, he has taught people communication skills worldwide for organisations like O’Reilly and NASA, from Tokyo to Helsinki.
Join us to grow your skills together with fellow Designers, Researchers, and Product folks!
