The most recent announced design events 💫

There are a number of interesting visual design events announced for the summer. I have collected them all! Some events are returning after a long hiatus. New events are popping up in Lagos and Warsaw.

This coming autumn is packed with design festivals and conferences on every continent. You could say that face-to-face events are back after three years of exclusively online events.

Festival Eastern European Design

Festival Eastern European Design is a festival dedicated to visual design from Central and Eastern-Southern Europe. The festival will consist of conferences, gatherings of design event organizers, meetings of community leaders, practical workshops, and networking sessions.
The conference will showcase design scenes from the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and others.

AGI Open 2023

L.E.V. Festival

The Festival of Visual Electronica and Extended Realities, comes back to Madrid to bring us the newest experiences in the field of audiovisual experimentation. The event will take place in several spaces of Matadero throughout four days, and the attendees will be able to enjoy incredible sonic, visual and digital worlds created with cutting-edge technological tools by some of the most creative national and international minds of this artistic field.

Harvard GSD Black in Design Conference

This year’s Black in Design conference explores the Black home’s multidimensionality — as a literal structure that shelters, as a reflection of culture and traditions, and as spaces that are not entirely physical. The conference brings together keynote panels, workshops, and conversations that discuss and expand these themes with different thought leaders involved in designing and creating various interpretations of Black homes. Our goal is to establish a broader understanding and alternate ways of experiencing the Black home in an effort to reinforce the ideals of Black communities living across the country and larger diaspora so that we can plan for its future.
