A traveling festival focussing on the newest creative trends, artist talks by trailblazing artists, immersive installations, mind-blowing afterparties and unique industry opportunities. In Motion is set for 19+20 September in Rotterdam and 10+11 October in London. 

After two successful 2023 editions in the two metropolises of London and Rotterdam, In Motion returns to both cities in 2024, setting up camp in the always reinventing Maassilo (RTM) and in the trade-mark venue for brutalist architecture: Barbican Centre (LDN).

Playgrounds is an international platform that showcases and celebrates the creative image. Since 2006 the platform connects makers, industry, education and audiences with its inspiring events. Over 600+ speakers joined previous editions among them are artists such as Daniels, David Wilson, Patrick O’Keefe, Julia Pott, The Line and many more. In Motion offers the opportunity for emerging talent to connect with industry giants and is the nursery of new born creative relationships!

In Motion: What to Expect 

Confirmed speakers include: 

  • Becky & Joe (Rotterdam and London): BAFTA winning director duo Rebecca Sloan and Joseph Pelling. Famous for the TV series ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ and known for their sharp, absurd and genre-bending style. 

  • François Rousselet (Rotterdam and London): one of the most creative forces in music videos and commercials today. Collaborated with some of the world’s top musical minds including Madonna, Depeche Mode, Jack White, Snoop Dogg, Justice and Rolling Stones. His ground breaking Cash In Cash Out video for 21Savage, Tyler the Creator & Pharrell was nominated for multiple awards. 

  • Margherita Premuroso (Rotterdam and London): is an acclaimed art director and ground-breaking animator who gathered widespread recognition with her work. She has collaborated with elasticTV, Studio AKA, Hornet, Wonderlust and gained numerous accolades and screenings at esteemed events. Such as Siggraph, OneDotZero, Vimeo Film Festival and many more.  

  • Untitled Army (Rotterdam): Lucas Carmago aka Untitled Army top-selling NFT artist who won international awards and distinctions such as Cannes, Clio, ADC, D&AD both in advertising and as a 3D artist. With his project, Untitled Army, he aims to capture his experiences and observations.

  • Andrew Thomas Huang (London): Writer-director Andrew Thomas Huang crafts hybrid fantasy worlds and mythical dreamscapes. A Grammy-nominated music video director who worked for Björk, FKA Twigs, Thom Yorke among others. 

  • Giant Ant (Rotterdam): Emmy-winning creative studio that specializes in animation and motion-graphics and known for its work with forward-thinking clients. Giant Ant’s unmistakable style and markable approach make them one of the most important studios of our time. 

  • Alex Hirsch (London): Creator of Disney Channel’s BAFTA-winning Gravity Falls. Alex is an expert on engaging stories who contributed to animated features such as Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, The Angry Birds Movie 2, Super Mario Bros Movie and many more.
