Welcome to Issue 197.

Last year Los Angeles-based creative director Brain Moore (@lanewinfield) appeared on my TikTok #fyp. He made a funny video about the Zoomout pull switch he made to end a call. The way he tells the story is captivating. Turns out Moore likes trolling the internet by creating things that live on the internet, in real life, or somewhere in between. Like Shoom, a foot-activated camera to show off your sneakers while remote. Or a T-shirt that says he is on mute or being responsible for the #yepthatsme meme sound. In his Tedx presentation, Moore talks about how his weird, fun, and innovative engineering projects can bring joy to ordinary everyday situations. Which makes me smile, and I hope you do too!

Good to know: You can build Brain Moore's projects yourself. On his Github page, he shares step-by-step tutorials, which is pretty neat.

Travel forward in time and discover the distant future. Not 10, 100 or 1000, but billions of years ahead — beyond the moment the sun has burned out.

Exhibition to 27 March / MU, Eindhoven

To our eyes, darkness is the absence of light, and light appears as the origin of life. In the world premiere of the awe-inspiring installation Spiraling Into Infinity by Amsterdam-based artist duo Children of the Light, light is staged as a fleeting yet tangible presence that is playfully roaming the nebulous exhibition space of MU.
