Welcome to Issue 201.

Lately, I'm thinking a lot about how visual identities for creativity and design events are created. What they mean for a festival and the impact it can have for the agency behind it. As the visuals are an integral part in shaping the entire experience of a festival or conference. The identity is the first contact point for potential visitors, it has to convey the right energy and emotion to attract the right crowd in addition to containing all relevant content. Such as title, date, and location.

In issue 196 I shared the new identities created for this year's edition of Lowlands, STRP, and Otherlands. These past weeks multiple organizers presented their new or updated identity. All have their unique style, key elements that make them stand out from the rest. This is done through the layout, typeface, color combination, or motion design. Other than a centric layout, I haven't found a style trend yet, although some hint to styles mentioned in Pinterest’s 2022 Predict. In the coming months, I want to learn more about how to create a converting visual identity for an event. With whom should I talk, or which books should I read about this topic?

New visual identities shared this past week.

When seeing the moving Gaussian blur overlay with bold white typography, you know it's SP's Perspective edition.

Presented last week their new visual identity, based upon the concept of Onomatopoeia. Designed by Vasava studio. Vasava studio is also responsible for the visual identity of this year's Adobe Summit.

Post Design Festival released their 2022-23 program with a complete re-design by their in-house design team.

Global creative company agency Buck is responsible for Playgrounds playful '80s styled The Art Department identity.

First look at the new visual direction Rightaligned Events is going.
